The capital of the United Kingdom, known for being a hi-tech city, is increasingly accelerating its path towards innovation, bringing together new technologies, digital skills and connectivity to become an international smart city.

The city has already achieved cutting-edge results in the field of smart mobility, becoming a leader in Europe. The next goal is to guarantee, by 2041, 80% of the movements within the city on foot, by bicycle or by public transport.

In 2018 the city ranked 11th in the world for environmental sustainability with over 3,000 parks and green areas.

London is also the European center of artificial intelligence and boasts the world's largest network of air quality sensors. The huge investments in green hydrogen and offshore wind aim to make Great Britain one of the first producers of clean energy and to transform London into a “carbon-neutral” city by 2050.

Currently, the “Smarter London Togetherprogram is guiding the city's policies, which, in the context of digital transformation, aims at the optimized management of the city's big data and also at the improvement of cybersecurity and digital skills in general. The plan also includes more citizen-friendly services, more widespread connectivity and smart roads.
